THE HOLE

Caprock Cove

“THE HOLE” at Caprock Cove Park

This field was one of the first sports fields in the early days of Southaven.  It quickly earned its obvious and beloved nickname because of the dramatic change in the slope of the land leading to it.  This versatile field was used for organized youth baseball/softball games, practices, and neighborhood “pick-up” games that included whoever showed up on any given day.  It became most famous for being one of the most popular fields in the church and adult softball league circuits throughout the decades of the 1970s, ‘80s, and ‘90s.  If you close your eyes for a minute and listen carefully, you can still hear laughter in the air and, once again, go back to the “good ole days” of early Southaven.
