Animal Control

Animal Shelter

Our Mission

The primary mission of the Animal Control Division is to serve the public in matters where animals are:

Working With Police & Municipal Code

For other issues involving animals we are requested to address, our policy is to put people with concerns in touch with agencies or organizations that can better meet their needs. We also work closely with the Southaven Police Department and the Municipal Code Enforcement Office if they receive a call and animals are involved.

We do take cases to Southaven Municipal Court when necessary to obligate owners to respond to correcting violations or to remove animals from a neglectful owner’s care or other inappropriate situation.

We Care About the Animals in Southaven

Our most desired mission is to put healthy, adoptable animals in touch with owners who desire to give them a good home and appropriate care.

***THE SOUTHAVEN ANIMAL SHELTER WILL BE OPEN M-F 8-5 BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. THE SHELTER WILL BE CLOSED ON SATURDAYS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. IF YOU SEE AN ANIMAL ONLINE THAT YOU ARE  INTERESTED IN ADOPTING, PLEASE CALL AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT
