The water provided by the City of Southaven's Utility Department is pumped out of the Memphis Sand aquifer utilizing 11 ground water supply wells and sent to four water treatment plants where it is treated and tested to safeguard public health.
The Utility Department maintains a highly trained and licensed staff of personnel to ensure the water we supply to our customers meets or exceeds federal and State water quality standards. In accordance with federal and State requirements, we prepare and submit a Consumer Confidence Report
(CCR) to our customers and state officials.
Our water system consists of the following:
- Treatment plants
- Distribution system of water mains
- Eight elevated water towers
The system provides water to approximately over 50,000 people or 20,000 customers in the area.
