The mission of the Southaven Fire Department Emergency Medical Division is to enhance the quality of life in our community we serve by providing the highest level of pre-hospital care possible, thereby improving the outcomes of catastrophic illness and significant injury.
We will accomplish this mission in a caring environment with an emphasis on the safety and professional competency of all employees.
Welcome from EMS Coordinator
Welcome to our EMS home on the City of Southaven’s website.
Southaven Fire Department’s division of EMS is dedicated to bringing compassionate, life-saving emergency medical care to our streets, our homes and our workplaces—to the very heart of our residents and visitors—thus making Southaven a safer and healthier place to live.
Southaven Fire EMS is recognized in our State as a leader in the provision of prehospital emergency care. We provide a wide range of services including Advance Life Support prehospital care, Emergency Medical Dispatch, Paramedic coverage at special community events, community education in CPR/AED, and much more.
When you call 911 for help in Southaven, it activates a system of responders and caregivers. Emergency Medical Dispatchers that provide callers with important medical instructions answer 911 calls. The closest resources are then sent while the caller is giving lifesaving instructions on what to do. On many calls, an Advance Life Support engine company is dispatched along with the ambulance. All of Southaven Fire Department ambulances are staffed with paramedics, the highest trained pre-hospital caregiver recognized in our State. Paramedics use advance skills, medications and procedures to stabilize the patient before they are transported to a local emergency department. We are very proud of the education and dedication the men and women of this division bring to our department.
