11th Annual Fishing Rodeo

| The City of Southaven will host its 11th Annual Fishing Rodeo, Saturday, May 17th from 8:00 am to 11:00 am at Saucier Park (located on the south side City Hall). Age group divisions are 4-6 years, 7-9 years, and 10-12 years. Prizes and trophies will be awarded in these divisions. It’s free admission with free popcorn and cokes, so bring your fishing gear, bait, hats, and lawn chairs and join in the fun!! You may pre-register at Southaven City Hall or the Parks Dept. at Bancorp South Sports Center, 3335 Pine Tar Alley. For further information, you may call 662-890-PARK.

Job Fair

| The City of Southaven Parks and Recreation Department will be holding a job fair on Saturday, February 23, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bancorp South Sports Center located at Snowden Grove Park. Applications for seasonal, part – time employment will be taken at this time. Jobs include concessions, grounds crew, gate, and gift shop. Applicants must be 16 years of age to apply. Please bring a driver’s license and/or a social security card when applying. |

Southaven Mayor Greg Davis Announces Public Safety Grant Award

| (Southaven, Mississippi) –Mayor Greg Davis announced today the awarding of $179,201 in funding for the City of Southaven Fire Department. “I am pleased to announce that we have been successful once again in securing federal funding for our Fire Department,” stated Mayor Davis. “Public safety remains our number one priority and I am proud we have been able to secure additional funding for the men and women of our fire deparment.”
