Christmas Parade 2009

The City of Southaven’s “Christmas Parade 2009” will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 7:00 pm. The parade will begin at First Commercial Drive, north on Highway 51 to Main Street; east on Main Street to Northwest Drive, ending at Southaven Municipal Complex (City Hall).

Thanksgiving 2009 Sanitation Route
11/12/09
During the week of Thanksgiving, the City of Southaven Sanitation Department will pick up garbage on schedule Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. They will be off Thursday, but will pick up Thursday’s route on Friday and Friday’s route on Saturday.

RECYCLING PROGRAM NEWS UPDATE

The City of Southaven has been collecting “narrow necked” plastics as part of its recycling program for some weeks now and we wanted to take this opportunity to update the status of this program. To date, we have collected over one ton of material and we are delivering trailers to our processing partner weekly. While a ton may not sound like much - when you consider how much less plastic weighs than the paper and metal recyclables we collect and yet often takes up more space in the trailer for that reduced weight – we are off to a good start. |

Labor Day 2009 Sanitation Schedule

Monday, September 7, 2009, there will be no scheduled route. Garbage collection will run one day behind schedule that week picking up Tuesday through Saturday.
